This Privacy Policy explains how Housebox ("Housebox," "we," "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit housebox.io, contact us, or use the Housebox app (together, the "Services"). If you have questions, contact us at privacy@housebox.io.
Information you give us through the website. When you contact us through our contact form, we collect your first and last name, email address, and your message. If you previously requested early access, we also hold the company name, role and portfolio details, current tools, and message you provided at that time.
Information you store in the Housebox app. If you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo, plus the property information you and your team add. This can include property addresses and details, access codes and app passwords, photos and files, upkeep and maintenance records, receipts, transactions and other financial records, vendor and servicer contacts, and the names and email addresses of team members you invite.
Billing information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are handled by our third-party payment processor. We receive your plan, billing status, and invoice history, but we do not store your full card number.
Information collected automatically. Our hosting providers receive standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and pages requested, and use essential cookies needed to run the site, keep you signed in, and help our payment processor prevent fraud. If you allow it, we also use Google Analytics on the website to understand how visitors use it. See "Cookies and analytics" below. We do not use advertising cookies.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only in these cases:
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use two kinds:
Your cookie choices. Analytics stays off unless you turn it on. You can change your choice at any time by selecting "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page on housebox.io. If you turn analytics off, we stop loading Google Analytics and delete its cookies from your browser. We ask again after 12 months. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. We keep information you send through the website, including earlier early access requests, until you ask us to delete it or we no longer need it to contact you about Housebox. We keep account and property information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we delete it, including uploaded files, within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records (for example, billing records) to meet legal obligations.
We use access controls, encryption in transit, and private file storage to protect your information, and we limit access to people who need it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to stop sending you marketing email, by writing to privacy@housebox.io. We will not discriminate against you for making a request. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
California residents. Depending on your situation, California law may give you rights to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, to delete or correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
Do Not Track. Because we do not track visitors across other websites, our site does not change its behavior in response to browser Do Not Track signals.
The Services are intended for adults managing properties and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date, and if the changes are significant we will notify account holders by email before they take effect.
